Lauren's first time to the West Coast

Jordan's company is based in Vancouver.   He had been to Vancouver few times, but I could never attend due to work or family.   When he got notice to go in June, even with all of the other trips, we decided to take the weekend and go.    I had never to the West Coast so we chose Seattle as our first stop.    We had nice flights, so I was glad I kept my airline status for upgrades.

We flew in late and woke up early.  We ate at an awesome grungy diner that served breakfast and dinner 24/7.  We started at the Space Needle and went up.  We also went to the Chihuly Glass museum.   We ventured down to the Gates Foundation, Olympic Park and walked across the waterfront.  We got as close as we could to the neighborhood Frasier would have lived in and visited a rooftop bar for the view.

We made to Pike Place and wandered around for a few hours making stops to eat and drink.    We had to see the gum wall and the fish flying.  Here is the first Starbucks, but eh.

We took a cab (!) to the Fremont neighborhood for a gluten free bakery and the Troll. We then biked to Gas Works Park and biked around the park.  We ended the night at a highly rated, hard to find beautiful Italian restaurant in the heart of Pike Place.

The next day, after a few more sites and a museum, we rode our first Bolt bus.   We got to Vancouver and explored part of downtown with Olympic Village & Olympic Square as well as BC Place & Science World for their cool architecture.   We explored the harbor and ended at an Irish bar.

We got to Stanley park for the views and the odd parts of the park.  We saw Prospect Point, the Totem Poles, their mermaid statue and the rock garden.   It reminded me of Supernatural, as they often film here.   We then walked the main waterfront, which houses the Bute Marina which is where MacGyver was based.   We kept walking to see the Olympic Cauldon and Digital Orca statue.   We combed the Gastown neighborhood.

This city made me laugh because of a few of my favorite shows were filmed here and I saw places that I could tell were filming spots.   I enjoyed both cities, saw their beauty and do not need to come back....
